What is the Fascial system?
The Fascial system is the biological fabric that holds us together. It is our connective tissue network and, as the largest system in our body, it goes through and around every cell including nerves, blood vessels, muscles, bones, and organs. Because the fascial system is one fabric that holds us together, restriction in one area of our body can affect movement and create symptoms elsewhere. Additionally, stress and trauma inhibit the fascia’s resilience resulting in physical, mental, and emotional pain.
If you have a restriction or pain in one area of your body, your body will adapt and compensate for it by using muscles and fascia. Fascia will shorten or tighten to help the muscles because muscles cannot hold the extra tension alone. As a result, your posture can change to accommodate this and thus begins a process of negative cascading events. Fascia is a major player in every movement you make and every injury you’ve ever had.
What is MFR?
MFR is a holistic, gentle, hands-on technique used to find and relieve physical, emotional, and mental pain (past and present) in the fascia. Through assessment and a series of movements encouraged by you, you’re able to release restrictions in the fascia. These instinctual movements reprogram the nervous system and are successful in breaking your pain and chronic cycles.
